What is helplessness, the path from helplessness to discovering your own strength.
In the psychotherapeutic process, we struggle with many defense mechanisms that are destructive to the patient’s life, but most often they also effectively destroy or block the course of therapy. The ability to recognize defenses allows helping the patient to gain influence on his own internal mental process, but also increases the therapist’s efficiency in preventing cooperation with the patient from getting stuck in a collusion, from activating countertransference, from losing hope. Therefore, the therapist’s effectiveness depends, among other things, on on how they deal with the patient’s defenses.
During the seminar, selected aspects of the use of the helplessness mechanism will be discussed, based on examples and practical exercises.
