Monica Urru

President of the Italian Association of Experiential Psychotherapy, runs a private psychiatric and psychotherapeutic practice in Rome. She specializes in the treatment of psychotrauma and somatization in adults, integrating the ISTDP approach with other trends (EMDR, sensory therapy, CRM, neurofeedback). She collaborates with other specialists in the world in the field of teaching and research on increasing the effectiveness of treatment of complex somatic disorders. She is a consultant at the Aviation Department of the Military Hospital in Rome and Florence. He conducts supervision and Core Training in the ISTDP trend.

I have very much enjoyed several training videos from Sentio. I recently watched “the neurobiology of guilt and its psychotherapeutic aspects” and was very inspired by it. I find it meaningful to deepen my theoretical knowledge, partly from interest but also as a help in my clinical practice. Here I believe the training videos fill a gap within the community of ISTDP. In Monicas presentation, I especially enjoyed how she described the function of guilt and shame. It’s wonderful how she is able to integrate different perspectives, the neurobiology, the theoretical and the clinical perspective with examples from different contexts. Sometimes I had difficulties following the thread/shifts to different topics within the presentation, but that was compensated by Monicas ability to reach through the screen.
